Tal Placido

Tal Placido is a multidisciplinary artist based in Central New York and engages primarily in large-scale abstract paintings. Through her work, she challenges perceptions of limitation and emphasizes the richness inherent in readily available materials. Drawn to using found items such as vintage linens and unique textiles, Tal Placido integrates each element’s history and story into her creative process. She employs a diverse range of mediums, including acrylic paints, oil pastels, and graphite, to explore themes deeply connected to her identity and heritage as a first-generation Filipino American. These themes are a significant part of her narrative, providing a lens through which she examines broader cultural and personal dialogues.
