Jimmy Hall (b. 1989) is an abstract artist living and working in Lexington, Kentucky.
Throughout his painting process, Hall utilizes a wide range of tools and application methods to create a “stack” of foundational layers on the canvas. As new layers are added, a careful amount of opacity is maintained to allow features of each preceding background to not only remain visible, but to serve as vital, complementary elements of the evolving composition.
At the conclusion of this process, an intentionally subtle, minimal color palette is applied as a final foreground, inviting the viewer to explore the textures, colors and intricate details beneath the surface.
